Butler began shooting The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller with Estella Warr and William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain in November of 2011. The film was also set to shoot on location in Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She became part of the feature film independent Treachery starring Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler made an appearance as a character in The Demented, a 2013 horror movie with Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
